There are few restrictions on the ownership of property; Alderney is probably the easiest of the Channel Islands in which to purchase residential, commercial or industrial property. Residential property ranges from flats and cottages to detached houses and even Victorian fortresses. Office accommodation is also available.

Anyone who is a national of one of the countries of the European Union can buy property in Alderney. Those who are not subjects of Her Majesty or do not hold E.U. passports can apply to the court and the Lieutenant Governor for permission to purchase property.
