THE GAMBLING (ALDERNEY) LAW, 1999
Appointment of Commissioner
The Gambling (Alderney) Law, 1999 provides that there be an Alderney Gambling Control Commission (“the Commission”), consisting of a chairman and three other members appointed by the Policy and Finance Committee. The chairman and other members of the Commission hold office for a period of five years and vacate office as such in accordance with the terms of their appointments. There is presently a vacancy for a member.
The Committee is seeking, in strictest confidence, expressions of interest from persons who wish to be considered for appointment as a member. There is no requirement that a member shall be resident in Alderney. Expressions of interest should be in writing and sent to the States Chief Executive (not the Commission) so as to be received by close of business on 1st June 2010. Full details of the duties involved, remuneration, allowances etc. may be obtained from the Chief Executive. All enquiries will be dealt with in strictest confidence.
