Alderney Community Woodland

A letter from Roland Gauvain, Manager of the Alderney Wildlife Trust:

Dear Sir or Madam,

Regarding the Alderney Community Woodland (ACW) - Development Plan

I am writing to you in regards to the ACW as we consider all business owners on the island key consultees in the development of the Woodland project.

A 'Development Plan' outlining the aims and objectives of the Woodland, and how they will be achieved, is currently in publication. This plan is in draft at this stage and over the coming three weeks we are asking all interested parties and stakeholders to offer their comments and ideas, as well as any concerns they may have. These responses will be compiled and will then be used to inform the completed Woodland Development Plan, which will be taken to the States of Alderney for approval in May of this year.

Please find attached a brief summary document, a copy of the draft ACW Development Plan and the consultation response sheet to this email. A paper copy of the Development Plan to view can also be found at the Alderney Tourism Office (Victoria Street) and the Alderney Library. The Trust would be very grateful if you could pass us any comments you may have by the 26th April to the address attached.

The Trust will also be holding an 'ACW Open Day' on Wednesday 20th April in the Alderney Tourism Office (51 Victoria Street), between 2 & 8pm. Trust staff and volunteers involved in the project will be on hand to answer questions and take in any comment, as well as having more detailed plans and maps available for viewing. If you are unable to make this date but would like to discuss this project please do not hesitate to contact us; either call on 01481 822935 or email

Many thanks for your consideration on this mater and I hope your will find these plans as a positive as I do.

Yours Sincerely,

Roland Gauvain
Trust Manager
