Public Notice - By Election & Hustings

Notice re forthcoming By Election on 10 October and Hustings on 30 September 2020

PUBLIC NOTICE

FORTHCOMING BY ELECTION
on Saturday 10th October 2020

There will be two opportunities for the community to engage with the Candidates prior to the Election on the 10th of October.

It has been decided to adopt a "Question Time" format at the Hustings. And questions from the community will be invited in advance. When all the questions have been received they will be collated in order to identify the issues which are most important to the people who have submitted them. One person from each group of questions selected will then be invited to put the question to the candidates on the night.

The candidates will also be given the opportunity to verbally share with the public their "manifestos"

In addition a 'Drop-in Session' will be held where any questions that people have following the Hustings can then be discussed with the candidates personally.

It is hoped that this provides a framework in which the community may engage with the candidates and the candidates may share their views.

THE HUSTINGS WILL BE HELD FROM 1900-2100HRS
on WEDNESDAY 30TH SEPTEMBER 2020
in The Island Hall

Questions should be sent to the President's Secretary at the Island Hall
(email president.alderney@gov.gg) by midday on Tuesday 29 September.

'DROP-IN SESSION' WILL BE HELD FROM 0930-1230hrs
on SATURDAY 3RD OCTOBER
in the Anne French Room at the Island Hall

Everyone is welcome to Drop-in during these times to meet the Candidates
