Coins issued in honour of the Queen Mother who celebrated her one hundredth birthday on Friday 4th August 2000. Obverse: Raphael Maklouf's portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Reverse: The coin provides a unique tribute marking an occasion in the long life of a very special member of the Royal Family. Born the ninth of ten children Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon grew up to capture the heart of a prince, and the love of a nation.
