2007 - History of the British Monarchy
Especially produced for those with an interest in the History of the British Monarchy, this superb collection covers two of the most colourful and interesting dynasties in British History - namely the Tudors and the Stuarts. Covering a time frame of 229 years, the history for this period includes Civil Wars, the founding of the Church of England and many other captivating events in British History. The coins feature a portrait of each of the influential rulers together with their Royal Arms. Also featured in the design, is an emblem associated with the dynasty represented, namely the Tudor Rose for the Tudor rulers and a Scottish Thistle for the Stuarts. Monarchs included in this collection are Henry VII; Henry VIII; Edward VI; Mary I; Elizabeth I; James I; Charles I; Charles II; James II; William III & Mary; William III and Anne I. The twelve coins have been designed by sculptor David Cornell, FRBS FRSA and each come with a fascinating colour story card and individual Certificate of Ownership. The £5 coins are struck in Sterling Silver, plated in .999 fine gold and the issue is strictly limited to 30,000. The obverse of the coins will feature the approved portrait of Her Majesty the Queen by Ian Rank- Broadley, FRBS, surrounded by the inscription Elizabeth II Alderney 2007.![]() |
