2008 - The Alderney 2008 Concorde 65mm Silver Proof Coin
On 24 October 2003 Concorde made its final flight and to mark five years since Concorde was decommissioned the Royal Mint has produced a limited-edition silver proof £10 coin for the issuing authority of Alderney.
Designed by The Royal Mint Engraving Team, the reverse of the coin shows Concorde enclosed within a pattern of concentric circles representative of the sonic boom produced when she exceeds the speed of sound. The obverse carries Ian Rank-Broadley's portrait of the Queen.
- Just 750 coins have been authorised
- Struck in sterling silver to Proof quality
