2008 - The Alderney 2008 Concorde £5 Gold Proof Coin
On 24 October 2003 Concorde made its final flight and to mark five years since Concorde was decommissioned the Royal Mint has produced a limited-edition gold proof £5 coin for the issuing authority of Alderney.Designed by The Royal Mint Engraving Team, the reverse of the coin shows Concorde enclosed within a pattern of concentric circles representative of the sonic boom produced when she exceeds the speed of sound. The obverse carries Ian Rank-Broadley's portrait of the Queen.
