Item l Audited Accounts, 2008

The States resolved to approve of the Annual Accounts for 2008 of the States of Alderney and of the States Water Board.

(Proposed by Mr Willmott and seconded by Mr Williams.)

Item ll The Public Vehicle (Amendment) Regulations, 2009

The States resolved not to annul The Public Vehicle (Amendment) Regulations, 2009.

(Proposed by Mr Walden and seconded by Mr Kelly.)
(Approved unanimously.)

Item Ill The Speed Trials (Alderney) Ordinance, 2009

The States resoled to approve of The Speed Trials (Alderney) Ordinance, 2009.

Item lV The Evidence in Civil Proceedings (Guernsey and Alderney) Law, 2009

The States resolved not to approve of The Evidence in Civil Proceedings (Guernsey and Alderney) Law, 2009.

(Proposed by the President and seconded by Mr Williams.)
(Not approved by a majority. For Messrs Williams, Kelly, Sargent and Mrs Bennett. Against Messrs Willmott, Tugby, Llewellyn Allen and Beaman. Mr Walden abstained.)

Item V The Charities and Non Profit Organisations (Investigatory Powers) (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Law, 2008

The States resolved to approve of The Charities and Non Profit Organisations (Investigatory Powers) (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Law, 2008.

Item Vl Questions and Reports

Mr Williams reported on Tidal Power.

The President advised that the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association Youth Parliament held by Year 10 of St Anne�s School on 23rd March 2009 had been a very worthwhile event.

The President was pleased to report that the 30th Signal Regiment would be visiting the Island again this year during the first week in August.

The President was delighted to announce that Their Royal Highnesses The Earl and Countess of Wessex will visit Alderney during a two day tour of Guernsey, Herm, and Sark in July this year.

The President welcomed the visit today by Mrs Rose Ashley, Head of Crown Dependencies Policy Team at Ministry of Justice and her presence at the States meeting this evening.
