TAKE NOTICE that in accordance with the decision made on 5th March 2009, the General Services Committee has, under the provisions of the above mentioned Ordinance, made Regulations to increase the maximum level of taxi fares that may be levied on the island

These Regulations which are entitled “The Public Vehicle (Amendment) Regulations” come into force on 23rd April 2009.

The full text of the Regulations is available for inspection in the office of the Chief Executive and the States General Office.

PLEASE NOTE

DEAD MILEAGE:
The driver shall be entitled to make a charge of  55p for every mile travelled from a garage or rank to the point of commencement of a journey.

WEDDINGS, FUNERALS, PARTIES etc.
Contracts for weddings, funerals, parties etc. are negotiable with the taxi operator. IMPORTANT
In the event of any complaint in respect of
  • i) Overcharging
  • ii) The driver of the vehicle
  • iii) The vehicle itself

Please inform a Police Officer, stating registration of vehicle.
