REGISTRATION OF CONSERVATION AREAS IN THE REGISTER OF HISTORIC BUILDINGS AND ANCIENT MONUMENTS.

Under section 46 of the Building and Development Control (Alderney) Law, 2002, if the Committee is of the opinion that any area of special historic or architectural interest the character or appearance of which is desirable as a matter of public importance to preserve or enhance, the Committee may, subject to certain provisions, designate the area as a conservation area and direct that that it be registered as such in the Register of Historic Buildings and Ancient Monuments.
Please be advised therefore, that the Building and Development Control Committee is giving notice of its intention to register the following areas in the Register of Historic Buildings and Ancient Monuments as conservation areas:
- Hammond War Memorial
- Gates and Sentry to former Camp Sylt
- Abrevoir Publique, south of Airfield road
- Abrevoir Publique, outside Moorings, Rue de Beaumont
- Plaque above the entrance arch to the Museum, High Street
- Walled structure and Cattle trough – St Vignalis’s Garden, Pont Martin
- Watermill and Holding Reservoir, Bonne Terre
- Courthouse, Police Station, Jail, Exercise Yard and Boundary Walls, QEII Street
- 3 Queen Elizabeth II Street
- 6 Queen Elizabeth II Street
- 8 Queen Elizabeth II Street
- 10 Queen Elizabeth II Street – St Anne’s House
- Storehouse (east of 11 QEII Street)
- La Cachette, Queen Elizabeth II Street
- Old Barn, Essex Farm
- Neolithic Tomb, Roc a L’Epine, Tourgis Road
- Methodist Church, Butes Road
- 1 Norman Villas, Braye Road
- 2 Norman Villas, Bryae Road
- Mermaid Cottage, Braye Lane
- Bonza House, Braye Lane
- Brickfields Barn, Le Grand Val
Under the provisions of section 48 of the Building and Development Control (Alderney) Law, 2002 any person is invited to make any representation to the Committee, in respect of the proposed registration, within a period of 28 days from the date of publication of this notice in the Alderney Official Gazette.
