Road restrictions.
Construction of water mains from Bonne Terre to Battery Quarry.

Preliminary notice.
Construction of the new water mains from Bonne Terre to Battery Quarry has now commenced and is expected to be complete by early 2009. A number of road crossings, as indicated in the table below, will be necessary and whilst every endeavour will be made to maintain traffic access some disruption will be inevitable.
The road crossings are expected to be carried out progressively over the period from w/e 3 October until mid December. Specific commencement dates of individual crossings will be dependent upon progress of each crossing. Where possible notices will be published nearer the date of the specific works but conditions may dictate action without advance notice. Appropriate road signs will be placed at the approaches. The cooperation and understanding of the public during the course of this very important work is requested.

Location:

  • Junction of Petit Val and Route de Picaterre
  • Junction of the unmade private roads at Platte Saline and Blanchards road
  • End of Platte Saline private road by Fort Doyle at the entrance to the pathway behind the nurses" home.
  • The crossing from near the Wreck Shed to The Cutting, adjacent to the railway line
  • Crossing from The Cutting at the junction with the end of Braye Street to Braye Common
  • Crossing of Rue de Beaumont from Braye Common at the approach to the quarry
