Aurigny Air Services - the company which has serviced Alderney since 1968 -was the first airline to introduce Trislanders to the Channel Islands. In fact, the company owns the world's most famous Trislander - JOEY (registration G-JOEY) which has a painted face on its elongated nose cone. JOEY boasts a worldwide fan club of over 2,000 members - all under the age of 12.

    

Blue Islands Airline too, deploys Trislanders and Islanders because these small planes are ideally suited for landing on island runways. Trislanders are in fact the "stretched" version of an Islander with fuselage added fore and aft and an engine mounted on the tail plane.
